On Saturday Kendal Ladies 1s travelled to top three team Doncaster to play on a pitch slippier than an ice rink.
Remaining consistent throughout the season, and despite Mel Whalley-Jones commanding presence in the defence, the Cumbrian lasses conceded after 7 minutes and in their best attempt to please the antagonistic hosts Kendal conceded a succession of goals. Goalkeeper Laurel Halliwell was unable to cope with the rampage and was taken out by an opposition outfield player.
At half time Kendal were yet to score. Although up against strong opposition The Greens showed their fighting spirit and crafted three amazing goals in the second half. One goal each for Karen Kaney-Tyson, Vicky-Louise Whalley-Jones and newcomer Yazz Taylor, who is proving her worth in the first team, showed that despite the result, Kendal refused to give up.
Final score- Doncaster Ladies 1s 13 – 3 Kendal Ladies 1s.
