Kendal Ladies 1st team continued their fantastic form this week with another dominant performance against Lancastrian rivals Bolton. Throughout the match Kendal passed the ball cleanly and worked hard for each other off the ball. They were ahead within the first ten minutes as Abby Bland tucked away a neat deflection from a Martindale shot. Goals followed from Sally Scott and Sophie Garne, in both cases Kendal committed the goalkeeper allowing free shots at the target. Just before half time Laura Morris scored with her usual deft touch from a short corner.
Morris was excellent in her defensive duties in the second half winning the man of the match for her committed tackling when Bolton did try to break away. During a sustained period of pressure they did manage to score a goal from their 3rd successive short corner. However this spurred Kendal on to reply and they continued to attack from both flanks. Sally Scott slotted away two more goals and Abby Bland scored again. It was particularly impressive how many of the goals were tapped in from a few yards, players having totally out-manouvered their opponents.
The final score was 7-1 which will keep Kendal at the top of the table going into some tough games in November, starting with Durham University away next week.
