Kendal Ladies came up against a well organised Timperley side on Saturday. It was evenly matched in the first half with both teams creating chances. There was some good defensive work from Emma Woodburn and Becca Delbridge on the left. Sadly ten minutes before half time Timperley broke the deadlock having stolen possession from a hit-out and scrambled it in.
The match continued at a fast pace in the second half which was hard work for Kendal with no substitutes. Keeper Fiona Battersby made a string of amazing one on one saves preventing further goals. Then she managed to save a penalty flick as well. Despite fighting all the way to the final whistle Kendal were unable to find an equaliser so it finished 1-0. Kendal will look to put this rare defeat behind them as they face Springfields next week at home at Kirkbie Kendal, 2.30pm pass back.
