Kendal ladies welcomed Neston to Kirkbie Kendal School’s Cinder Ovens pitch.
It was a good start from Kendal, with Vicky Whalley-Jones and Karen Kaney-Tyson linking up well and creating an excellent chance. However, they were unable to take advantage of an early break and the shot flew just wide of the visitors goal. Neston broke soon after, converting a one-on-one chance with Nicola Hartley. Neston continued to press Kendal defence causing a further 4 goals before half time.
Kendal started the second half slowly, unfortunately conceding in the first minute. However, their increased Work rate and change of formation allowed Kendal to remain in possession throughout large amounts of the second half. There was some excellent defending from Vicky Atkinson and Melanie Whalley- Jones. Unfortunately the score didn’t reflect this and the whistle blew with a 7-0 loss for Kendal at full time.
Kendal continue to remain positive and rebuild for the next fixture away against Leeds Ladies 1s.
