Kendal travelled to Kirkby Stephen to play the fixture re-arranged due to earlier bad weather. In the first 15 minutes Kendal had all the play putting the pressure on the home team. After a spell of fast moving hockey Kirsty Hayton opened the score sheet with hard strike from the top of the D. Shortly after Kendal were awarded a short corner which was well worked with the ball being passed around to allow Junior Robyn Baines to slot the ball home to make the score 2-0. Kendal seemed to relax and gave Kirkby Stephen the chance to play. Kirkby put this opportunity to good use and caught the Kendal defence off guard and scored a well worked goal. The score going into half time remained at 2-1.
Both teams came out determined in the second half however Kendal had settled and within the first few minutes strong passing from Laura Harker and Sarah Brooks in mid field allowed a shot to be fired at the keeper. This was saved but the re-bound fell to Laura Howarth who took the ball on her reverse stick and flicked it into the goal to take the score to 3-1. Kirkby were strong on the break but solid goal keeping from Holly Price prevented a further goal allowing Kendal to put on the pressure again with Beth Hoggarth driving down the left to find Sarah Brooks at the top of the D who scored to make the score 4-1. On a further break Kirkby were awarded a short corner and capitalised on this with lifted goal to make the score 4-2. Kendal did not sit back and took the game back to Kirkby and were awarded another short corner. The Kendal attack worked this well through Kirsty Hayton and Robyn Baines was again able to slot the ball home once more to make the final score 5-2.
