Morecambe started strong and part way through the first half were 2-0 up. Kendal were awarded a penalty corner and after a strike at goal the ball fell to Becca Camp who tussled with the defender and the defender knocked the ball in.

The second half saw Kendal settle down and start to pull back. Nic Conway up front struck a hard ball at goal to make it 2-2. Morecambe responded with a 3rd to take them into the lead but a pass from Vicky Atkinson to Sarah Brooks allowed Sarah to take on the keeper to make it 3-3. Kendal then came to life and make some good passing play to put pressure on the Morecambe defence. A cross from the right to the left post allowed Caitlin Postlethwaite to score with an impressive reverse shot in the air to make it 4-3. Sophie Lewthwaite on left wing was able to capitalise on two further crosses from the right with air shots into the top of the goal to make the final score 6-3.

Kendal 2’s are looking forward to the forthcoming season which starts on Monday 1st October with an evening match away at Kirkby Lonsdale.
