Saturday’s game against Sheffield for the women’s first was looking hopeful as they are the only team we have taken points off so far. Our squad of 11 players, including Heather and Bec making their debut and Jones, Mel and Peggy only arriving 20mins before the start, gave everything to draw 1-1!

Sheffield scored in the first minutes and it looked like we could be on the end of the battering. After the manic start we played amazingly well, dominating near the end of the first half and for some of the second, even kept our heads and Hockey when Mel got yellow carded for tripping over their player just outside the 25 who was on her way to a 1v1 with Laurel. Our goal came from a hard strike taken by Kaney at the top of the D, which took a slight deflection into the goal. She definitely deserved it after a few close misses throughout the game, especially after that being her first game up front for Kendal. A valuable point and an awesome start to the second half of the season!
